In accordance with Section 32 of the Podiatry Practice Act, 2005, the Application for Renewal of Registration is now referred to as the Annual Return.
Annual Returns for the 2008/2009 registration year, together with the
Board's fourth annual newsletter and the new
Ongoing Competency Model were posted to the profession on 24 April 2008.
This year there have been further changes under the new legislation including:
- Registrants must provide documents for a 100 point identity check.
- Registrants who have any medical condition which may impact on their ability to safely provide podiatric treatment must provide a "certificate regarding medical fitness to provide podiatric treatment" which has been completed by their medical practitioner or psychologist. The certificate can be downloaded by clicking on the following link:

All registrants are encouraged to read the newsletter thoroughly as it explains the requirements for the annual return process in detail.

The
Ongoing Competency Model was adopted by the Board in March 2008, all podiatrists are encouraged to read their copy of the Model throroughly, and ensure that they understand the requirements for maintaining registration.
Podiatrists are not required to provide any evidence of ongoing competency with their annual return this year, but will be required to submit evidence with next year's annual return in May 2009 for activities undertaken from May 2008 to May 2009.
