ONGOING COMPETENCY
Under the new Podiatry Practice Act the Board is required to monitor and ensure the professional competence and fitness to practise of all registered practitioners.
In order to fulfil this requirement, the Board has drafted an Ongoing Competency Model and formed a Review Committee to consider this document. Membership of the Committee consists of: 2 representatives from APodA (SA); 2 Board members; and the Registrar.
The Committee have now finalised the draft Model and are seeking comments from the profession. The draft Model can be viewed by clicking on the following link:

REGISTRATION RENEWAL / NEWSLETTER
Applications for renewal of registration, together with the Board's third annual newsletter, were posted to the profession on 19 April 2007.
Under the new legislation the renewal process is now quite different to past years, and registrants are encouraged to carefully read pages 2 and 3 of the Newsletter which explain the requirements and process in detail.

Registrants are reminded that renewals of registration must be submitted by 31 May 2007. In addition to avoiding renewal letters being sent, this will also ensure that registrants receive their Annual Practising Certificate and are duly registered on 1 July 2007.
